Vintage United States Marine Corps 1970's Red Shorty Shorts USMC

The following auction is for a Mens USMC Marine Corps shorts from the 70's. They are used. They show some wear. They have some loose strings here and there. They may have a bit of a musty smell. They have been in storage for quite some time. I am calling them a Medium, but the tag is too wore to see the size. I cannot make out a manufacturer name either.
The elastic feels stretchy and not dry rotted, but they maybe a bit stretched out from wear.  There are some snags in a few places. There is some pilling and some lint balls stuck to it. It may have a cat hair on it, as my cat likes laying on my photo stand. I told him not to, but he did not seem to understand or care. He still does it.
They measure about 15 inches across the front elastic. From the top of the shorts to the bottom of the leg measure about 14 inches.
I remember shorts like these. We wore these shorty shorts in the middle 80's for gym class. It was around the time Jams shorts (beach/surf shorts) came out that people starting wearing longer lengths. This has nothing to do with these shorts, just more of an observation of life in the mid 80's
