DESCRIPTION:This is a lovely Yellow graduated strand of handmade German Antique lamp wound glass beads. Each bead would have been made at a Glass Studio workbench where a colored glass rod was heated until plastic enough to be wound around a mandrel by hand. Practiced Glass Artists were able to produce these beautifully graduated beads in an array of wonderful colors. They were marked 1910 when I acquired them. The color is just gorgeous! and photos barely convey the beauty. You can restring in a similar manner or incorporate other beads into a really fine creation.
SIZE:
The strand, including clasp is ~17" long. There are #51 total graduated size beads which range from smallest ~5mm hole to hole (H-H) X ~5mm width to largest center bead ~15mm H-H X ~16mm width.
CONDITION:
The beads are in good undamaged condition. May have some surface wear from being Antique, being worn, and used.
The strand is strung on what looks like maybe old silk, and knotted in between beads, and finished with a small round brass (?) hook which flips open and appears intact. May have some surface dirt on beads and string which could likely be washed off with soapy water and dried. I would update string and clasp, but probably could be worn as is- though you should evaluate this yourself first. Priced accordingly.
Please use photos to help determine appearance and condition and zoom in as needed.
